plant是种植的意思，指的是人“种植”的这种行为,主语是人;而grow是生长的意思，侧重点是植物本身的生长，虽然也有种植的意思，但一般指的是后期的打理。而且两者的读音也不同的。
英语中 grow、plant、keep 三个词，和“种植、栽培、喂养”有关。
他们的区别：

强调“栽、种”这个动作, 比如：栽花 plant flowers，栽树 plant trees，植树节 Tree-planting Day;

着重指种植以后的栽培、管理过程.
The farmer grows wheat in this field.那位农民在这块田里种植的是小麦.

3. keep
则主要指“养”宠物、养动物，也可以指“赡养”。
